T-Mobile Galaxy Note II discovered to have 4G LTE feature
Other

The just announced Samsung Galaxy Note II for T-Mobile has been discovered as having similar capabilities as the AT&T model as far as 4G LTE connectivity is concerned. What this means is that the minute T-Mobile finally starts offering 4G LTE service to its customers, then users of the Note II could potentially start enjoying the LTE speeds themselves. Apparently, the functionality is "dormant" at the moment, and it might be possible to unlock it through a software update some time in the future if T-Mobile ever decided to provide it.

What Else You Need To Know

  • For now, Samsung Galaxy Note II users under T-Mobile can only get HSPA+ speeds as T-Mobile does not currently offer 4G LTE connectivity.
  • T-Mobile plans on reaching more than 200 million customers in the US through its own LTE network by the end of 2013.

We would hope T-Mobile would eventually enable the functionality for its early adopters, but since they aren’t advertising the Note 2 to have LTE they are not obligated to do so. We can only cross our fingers and hope they’ll do the right thing once the time comes. - Quentyn Kennemer, Phandroid

The radios seem to be locked out for us common folks, and why wouldn’t they be? They’re of no use as is unless someone found a way to hack this thing onto AT&T’s LTE network.
