Mobile Syrup

Telus subscribers in Canada will soon be able to wave goodbye to the long-standing activation and renewal fees that have always been associated with mobile phone service contracts. This move by Telus will be officially implemented on Monday, the 15th of October, and will be effective forever, according to a report on Mobile Syrup. With this move, Telus is expected to set a precedent and it is hoped that other Canadian carriers will soon follow suit.

What Else You Need To Know

  • Currently, the Telus activation fee costs $35 while the renewal fee--a.k.a. "equipment exchange fee"--costs $25.
