The Mobile World Congress 2013 will be held February 25th to 28th in Barcelona, Spain, and LG hopes to use the expo to further gain ground in the cutthroat mobile arena. In cloud nine with the success of the Optimus G and the Nexus 4, LG has scheduled a press conference February 25th with the invitation saying "stay tuned for a world of difference at MWC 2013" and a save the date featuring a massive number 4 in the corner, followed by the words "More from LG". LG thus is expected to showcase four new devices, including a 5.5-inch successor to the Optimus G. Although the new Android phones are widely expected, unveiling Windows Phone 8 handsets at the MWC could also be a possibility for LG.
What Else You Need To Know
- In its press release announcing its fourth quarter results, the Korean device-maker said it plans to release follow-up devices to Optimus G and the L Series as well as the new F Series.
- LG's upcoming flagship device, dubbed the Optimus G Pro, is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch, full HD IPS-LCD display, a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB of memory, 13- and 2-megapixel cameras, NFC, 32GB of storage with a microSD slot for more storage, a massive 3,140 mAh battery, and Android Jelly Bean out of the box.
- Specs of the sequels to the budget Optimus L-series phones have also been leaked online, with the LG Optimus L7 II said to be featuring a 4.3-inch IPS display (800 x 480 resolution), 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8225 processor, 768MB RAM, 8MP rear camera, 2,460mAh battery and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
