Google's YouTube is celebrating the 57th anniversary of the VHS recorder and has updated its native app for iOS with new features, including access to live streams. Live Streams allow users to tune into live events and news conferences on their iPhone or iPad as they happen. The app can be download from the new app now directly from Apple's App Store. YouTube is honoring the anniversary of its ancestor, the first video cassette recorder, with a VHS tape icon in the bottom-right corner of videos hosted by the service.
What Else You Need To Know
- The updated YouTube app's "my subscriptions" view lets users view a stream of videos from the channels they subscribe to, and the "Send To TV" feature lets users view YouTube videos on select devices can queue up several videos to play in quick succession.
