ZTE is officially no longer known for its bargain phones. The Chinese vendor debuted at the CES 2013 a handset with a giant 5-inch, Full HD screen, a powerful 1.7 GHz quad-core processor and other high-end specs. The Grand S's 440 PPI resolution display matches those of the Droid DNA and the new Sony Xperia phones. The ZTE Grand S also brags of a 6.9 mm enclosure, taking the title for now as the world's thinnest phablet. The ZTE device though only has a 1,780mAh battery -- appearing that the battery has been sacrificed to meet the size constraints. The device is expected to be in shelves in the U.S. in the second quarter.

- The ZTE Grand S features a 5-inch HD (1,920 x 1,080) display, a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro with 2GB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 13MP and 2MP cameras both capable of recording video in 1080p, 16GB of built-in storage, a microSD card despite its super thin enclosure, and LTE support.

For starters, the handset's decked out with a 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, 13MP rear-facing camera and 2MP front-facing cam, 2GB RAM and Android Jelly Bean 4.1 pre-installed. But, its signature claim to mobile fame is its 6.9mm thickness -- a slim silhouette the company's billing as a "world's first."
