Budget phones vendor ZTE officially unveiled the Nubia Z5, a high-end handset that could compete with the HTC Butterfly or the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4. The Nubia Z5 features a quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13MP camera with flash, NFC, and a 5-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels, and an extremely thin 7.6mm aluminum unibody design. The device is slated to arrive on shelves in China sometime later in January. ZTE has not announced an international release date.

- The ZTE Nubia Z5 also features the latest Android 4.1.1 with some UI customizations, a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, 32GB of internal storage and a 3,000mAh battery.
- The Nubia Z5 was launched December 26th in Beijing and is priced in China at 3456 Yuan (around US$553).
- A special Titanium version of the Nubia Z5 will also be available and is pegged at 7,890 Yuan ($1,300).
