ZTE Unveils the Geek That's Not for Geeks
Engadget

ZTE has unveiled a phone that might not really live up to its name. Announced this week, the ZTE Geek doesn't have leading edge features that tech-savvy geeks would expect. The ZTE Geek is powered by the new 32nm Intel Atom Z2580 processor, which Intel says has three times faster GPU and reduced power consumption. Other features are only decent: 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 (270p) pixels, 8 megapixel rear camera and a front facing 1MP camera, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built in storage. The phone runs on Android Jelly Bean and uses the same Intel processor as Lenovo's K900.

What Else You Need To Know

  • ZTE has not announced pricing and specific availability.
  • This mid-range phone is expected to be launched in China and developing countries.
